  • They Don’t Always Eat for Free
    Contrary to popular belief, food critics don’t always get free meals from the restaurants they review. In fact, most food critics pay for their own meals, or get reimbursed by their employers, to avoid any bias or influence from the restaurant owners or staff. Food critics also try to remain anonymous, so they don’t get any special treatment or attention from the restaurant. They may use fake names, disguises, or reservations made by someone else to conceal their identity.
